Course
Set in 160 acres, the 6587-yard par 71 course weaves its way through a series of varied and challenging holes, including no fewer than six par 4s over 400 yards long from the medal tees. These demand a mix of skill and imagination.
Most of the holes remain true to the original 1908 layout by the legendary Harry Vardon. Since then a programme of gentle improvement, overseen by golfing luminaries like his rival James Braid and course architect Harry Colt, and more recently Donald Steel, contributed to its evolution.
